Hiking
For the adventurous, Wilderness offers five different hiking trails ranging in length from .16 to 3.0 miles. Hikers enjoy all the benefits of being outdoors, including identification of plants, trees, birds, and other wildlife, all while on any of these trails. Pack a lunch or snack to stop and eat along the way, but ensure that all trash is disposed of properly. Check with the Office for instructions for a "creek stomp" as you cross Flat Rock Creek on two of the trails.

Meditation Trail & Prayer Labyrinth
For those who want to enjoy the outdoors but not tackle a strenuous hike, Wilderness offers both a Meditation Trail and a Prayer Labyrinth.
The Meditation Trail is a short stroll through giant trees with points along the way for focusing on a specific facet of nature and reflecting on its application in life. Participants often complete the trail with a renewed and refreshed sense of purpose.
The Prayer Labyrinth was developed by a group of teenagers while on a retreat at Wilderness. Modeled after a traditional labyrinth, participants focus on and pray about their surroundings on the way into the labyrinth, stopping in the center to refocus and begin their walk out reflecting on and praying about their inner feelings. Like the Meditation Trail, guests frequently exit the labyrinth spiritually refreshed.
